About Us...
Dr. Yates has practiced veterinary medicine in the Finger Lakes community for the past 7 years as an associate of Phelps Veterinary Hospital. Before moving to the area, Dr. Yates practiced veterinary medicine with the United States Army in North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, Panama and Bosnia-Herzegovina. A graduate of the University of Georgia's School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Yates also practiced for a couple of years in Georgia before entering the military.
Dr. Yates is experienced in many types of surgery, emergency medicine and ultrasonography as well as preventative medicine and care.
When Dr. Yates is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Janelle, and four children, hiking, camping and "fixing" things at home!

Nancy McMichael Gruschow, LVT
Nancy is our Licensed Veterinary Technician, and has been working in the veterinary field for 14 years. Nancy graduated from SUNY Delhi and came to The Country Vet from Lakeshore Animal Hospital in Geneva.
Nancy is in the process of remodeling her circa 1800's Rushville farmhouse with her husband, Todd. She enjoys 4 wheeling, hiking, wildlife and spending time with her family. Nancy has a daughter and 2 beautiful grandchildren who visit her often.
Kaide Peck, Receptionist
Kaide resides in Canandaigua now, but hails from Ithaca, NY. She has earned her Associates degree in Applied Science in the integrated health care/ therapeutic massage program at Finger Lakes Community College. Kaide is a fully Licensed Massage Therapist and has traveled to China to study the ancient forms of massage and to expand her techniques. Her clinic, Holistic Therapies, is directly across the hall from The Country Vet, was started in October of 2008 and business has been steadily growing.
Kaide has two dogs of her own, a Chihuahua Pug named Drizzy and a Blue Heeler/ Elkhound mix named Rocky. Kaide loves pets of all kinds and loves to provide care for all people in need.
Dr. Michael Casale
Dr. Casale comes to the Country Vet from Canandaigua Veterinary Hospital.
